Academic Calendar in Croatia
Higher education institutions in Croatia follow distinct academic calendars, with slight variations of two to three weeks in semester start and end dates depending on the institution. To obtain precise scheduling details, students should contact their respective universities directly.
General Academic Schedule
The academic year in Croatia runs from October 1 to September 30 and is divided into two semesters:
Winter Semester (October 1 – February 28/29)
The winter semester begins on October 1 and concludes on February 28 or 29, depending on whether it is a leap year. During this period, students attend regular classes until the winter examination period, which takes place from February 1 to February 28/29. No classes are held during the examination period.
Summer Semester (March 1 – June 30)
The summer semester starts on March 1 and ends on June 30. Similar to the winter term, regular classes run until the summer examination period, scheduled from June 1 to July 15, during which no classes take place.
Fall Examination Period (September 1 – September 30)
For students needing to retake exams, a fall examination period is held from September 1 to September 30. No regular classes are conducted during this time.
While this structure provides a general framework, students should verify specific dates with their institutions, as variations may occur.
