Campus Life at the University of Warsaw
The University of Warsaw, one of Poland’s leading educational institutions, offers a vibrant and diverse campus life, with several key locations scattered throughout central and southern Warsaw.
Main Campus (Krakowskie Przedmieście)
Located along the city’s iconic Royal Route, the main campus sits on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street, in the heart of the city. It is a short distance from the residence of the President of Poland, making it a prime area that blends history, culture, and academic excellence.
Ochota Campus
In the central district of Ochota, you’ll find the university’s science and natural science faculties, as well as various research units. The campus is conveniently situated within the area bordered by Zwirki i Wigury, Wawelska, Grójecka, and Banacha Streets, providing a central location for academic pursuits.
Służewiec Campus (Southern Warsaw)
Home to the Faculty of Management and select buildings of the Faculty of Applied Linguistics, the Służewiec campus is located in the southern part of the city. The campus is well-connected to the city center via a bus service (line 174) from the “Orzycka” stop, which runs every 15 minutes.
Sports and Recreation
The University of Warsaw takes pride in its extensive sports facilities, provided by the University’s Sports and Recreation Centre (CSiR UW). Students can enjoy access to a swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym, halls for team games, and an indoor climbing wall. While some facilities are available for free, others require a fee for use.
Student Clubs and Unions
The University of Warsaw’s Student Union plays a crucial role in supporting and representing the student body. Its mission is to strengthen the voice of students within the university, ensuring they have a say in academic and faculty matters. The Union is not just an administrative body but also a vibrant community where students can pursue their passions, develop ideas, and gain invaluable experiences.
At the executive level, the Board of the University of Warsaw Students’ Union works to address formal matters, while also collaborating with and supporting the unit-level Student Unions. This structure offers students opportunities for involvement, leadership, and personal growth, creating an environment where creativity and ambition thrive.
With its dynamic campuses, rich history, and extensive extracurricular opportunities, the University of Warsaw provides a well-rounded educational experience that goes beyond academics, offering students a chance to engage, connect, and flourish in all aspects of university life.
