In 2024, a total of 5,116 participants took the Norwegian citizenship test, with an impressive 92.5% passing successfully, according to Schengen.News. This high success rate highlights the dedication of foreign nationals in meeting Norway’s citizenship requirements.
To apply for Norwegian citizenship, foreign nationals must pass either the citizenship test or the social studies test in Norwegian. The consistent high success rate indicates that applicants are taking their integration into Norwegian society seriously.
Norway’s Minister of Employment and Inclusion, Tonje Brenna, expressed her satisfaction with the results, emphasizing the importance of understanding Norwegian society for a successful life in the country.
“It is gratifying that so many people take and pass the test. To succeed in Norway, it is essential to have good knowledge of our society. It is important to participate in society on an equal footing with everyone else,” Brenna stated.
The Director of the Directorate for Higher Education and Competence, Sveinung Skule, also highlighted the positive trend, noting that the majority of test-takers have acquired substantial knowledge about Norwegian society.
