Residence Permit in Hungary for Foreign Students
Foreign students planning to study in Hungary for more than three months are required to obtain a residence permit. This document allows individuals to enroll in and attend high schools, colleges, universities, or other accredited secondary and higher education institutions. Additionally, participation in preparatory courses organized by universities can also serve as a basis for obtaining this permit.
Eligibility Requirements for a Student Residence Permit
To qualify for a residence permit based on studies in Hungary, applicants must meet several essential criteria:

The applicant must secure admission as a full-time student at a recognized educational institution in Hungary. - Language Proficiency

Duration and Work Rights
The residence permit for students is typically issued for the duration of the study program, provided it does not exceed two years. If the program extends beyond two years, the permit can be renewed as needed.
Students holding a valid residence permit are allowed to work part-time during their studies. They may work up to 24 hours per week during the academic semester and up to 66 working days annually during holidays and breaks.
Obtaining a residence permit ensures that students can legally reside in Hungary while pursuing their education and gain valuable work experience within the limits specified by Hungarian law.
