In Poland, wage levels reveal an interesting landscape shaped by region, industry, and profession. Starting January 1, 2024, the Council of Ministers has set a minimum wage of 4,242 zlotys (approximately 980 euros), with a slight increase scheduled for July 1, 2024, reaching 4,300 zlotys (about 998 euros).
The average gross monthly income nationwide stands at around 7,768.35 PLN (1,800 EUR), translating to a net salary of roughly 5,600 PLN (1,300 EUR) after taxes. Wage disparities are notable across regions, with the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, centered in Wrocław, topping the chart at 6,676.94 PLN (1,325 EUR) on average, while the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, where Olsztyn is located, records the lowest average at 4,763.06 PLN (975 EUR).
Industry-wise, the information technology and communications sector commands the highest salaries, with average wages reaching 10,355.97 PLN (2,165 EUR). Close behind, the energy sector—covering electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning—offers an average wage of 8,735.6 PLN (1,830 EUR). Among professions, doctors earn the most with a monthly average of 7,500 PLN (1,570 EUR), followed by programmers, whose average salary is 6,500 PLN (1,360 EUR).
